Filming blog

 Today was the first day of the film making. We started shooting at around 1:50 pm. It was very hot, and we had to film in the sun, so we were all sweating. First, we shot the very first shot, which was the introduction. It took place in front of the cafeteria, on a ledge. We had to take thirteen shots in total until we were satisfied with the outcome. It was very hard for everything to go the way we wanted. For instance, at times the bag would not sit up straight, one of us would forget what to do or say, or the angles would not be good enough. After shooting that first scene, because we were so sweaty, we decided to shoot the last scene second because my sweaty face would not be shown due to the fact that they would film me from the back. That’s when we went to find an available staircase, which was hard to find due to all the other students filming. First scene: 2 girls are sitting on a ledge, Leila and Aleiah with their feet dangling. Leila is holding her backpack between her legs.  This shot will be in slow motion and will be the introduction of our commercial.   Second scene: The bell rings, which leads to Leila dropping her backpack and leaving in a hurry. Her friend gets up with Leila’s backpack, does a quick dance with her feet while holding the backpack, and starts running towards another student. Third scene: Aleiah passes Leila’s backpack to a guy who is going to pass it to somebody else with another backpack, who is going to pass it to someone else with another backpack to show the different types of designs JanSport includes. Fourth Scene: Leila has a bunch of stuff in her hands such as a volleyball, a water bottle and a notebook, and suddenly drops it all in distress of not having a bag. Fifth scene: The fourth person passes Leila’s backpack to her, while Leila stares at her in discourage. This leads to her putting all

  Props :  Because my group and I are producing a JanSport commercial, our main props are JanSport backpacks. This will include various designs and colors. To pursue this and be able to include several JanSport backpacks, we will ask for permission from other students to use it in the commercial. Additional props that will be included are notebooks, a water bottle, a binder, and a volleyball.   Costumes :  In this commercial, there will be multiple people participating, and each one of them will be wearing clothes that students casually wear during school, such as jeans, cropped or loose shirts, and sneakers. We also want the uniform to be vintage, therefore we could be wearing flannels or large long-sleeved shirts. The part under the waist could be any form of jeans or pants. Furthermore, at the beginning of the advertisement, the camera will start at an angle where it only shows the feet of two or three people. Therefore, they should wear high top shoes to fit the mood.   Schedule :

  My group is doing a JanSport commercial. To research this project, we watched several different backpack commercials. In the official Patagonia commercials, there were relationships between the backpack and the location of the video. For instance, in one of the commercials we watched the actor was hiking in the woods due to the fact that Patagonia is a backpack that is made for long trudges. In the official JanSport video there was also a link between the commercial and their slogan which is “Discover Freedom.” This is as a result of the backpack being used in films to go to various locations. Additionally, it was shown by having kids run around, skateboard, and sneak out of their house with the backpack on. JanSport has great credibility when it comes to being durable too. They showed this in one of their commercials by having kids throw and drag the bookbag throughout different scenes. To further our knowledge, we also watched an Adidas backpack commercial. In this class, since the beginning of the year, the teachers have recommended us to get into groups. So, I have chosen to work with two partners. I was aware that this class can get a little hard, and I didn’t want to put too much pressure on myself. For that reason, I decided to work with two other girls. I got to know them on the first day of class. I didn’t know anybody at first, and I was sitting on a table of three. Not long after class started, two girls sat next to me and didn’t know anybody in this class either. So throughout the period, I got to know them. We all got along very well very fast and kept talking, which made us get close. After that, we decided that we would form a good group. At that time, we already knew each one of us was persevering and would take this class seriously. Their names are Angie Mendez and Aleiah Luster.  My name is Lili Amblard and I am sixteen years old. I am French and I moved to America in 2017. I come from a city on the Mediterranean Coast, Cannes. Now, I am currently living in Fort Lauderdale, in Florida. I have no family in America, so I try to go to France every summer. In my free time, I enjoy going out and hanging out with my friends. Additionally, I love going to the movies or watching Netflix. Another thing I enjoy doing is learning Korean. I find it to be a beautiful language, and comes with an amazing culture. In the future, I hope to to attend FSU, which is my dream school. For the moment, I am thinking of studying business and marketing. After college, I would love more than anything to live in New York City, I fell in love in love with it from the moment i stepped foot in it.
