Creative Critical Reflection

Hello, here is my Creative Critical Reflection. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Final Task

Here is my group and I’s final task. All I can say is that it was definitely an experience. We had to go through many more  challenges than before. It was my first time creating a project that long, so it took more efforts and patience. It was also very hard to find time that would suit everybody’s schedule. But in the end, it worked out, even if we were short on time. I can definitely see that my group members and I  have made so much more progress. We get better each time, but the difference in our knowledge compared to the first project, is more than visible when it comes to filming but mostly editing techniques. It makes me curious and excited about the next one, which will unfortunately only take place next year. Overall, even though it was tough, I am proud of what my group and I have accomplished, and I’m eager to see what the future projects will have us make throughout next year!

Final Edits

After receiving some good feedback from my peers, I have made some changes within my video. First of all, I started with the sound effects. My group and I all agreed on adding some extra sounds to make it look and sound more realistic. For instance, I went on YouTube and searched up “knife scratching sound”. It was hard to find the perfect one. But once I did, I inserted it into the clip needed, I cut a bit off of the sound, then it matched. I also searched up for creepy sounds that would enhance the scary atmosphere of our project, but none of them were satisfying. None of them would fit because of the song that is playing throughout the clips. Therefore, we cannot add any more ambience sounds. Second of all, I tried to make my transitions a bit smoother. Brianna and I met up yesterday to film some last minute clips, and it turned out great. We will use those clips as transitions to avoid jumping from one scene to another without it making much sense. I added those in, and we were fin

Last minutes plans

My group mates and I have to come the conclusion that we are not in an ideal situation. After most of the editing done, we are at 1:34, which is far from 2 minutes, our objective. After much reflection, we cannot adjust the clips enough for them to reach two minutes. Therefore, we need to add more clips. From where? We don’t know. We are thinking or making new ones. For that, we need to meet up again and add some more scenes. It will not only extend the amount of time of our project, but it will also make the transitions between each clip smoother. Moreover, we are thinking of meeting up on Sunday, at around 7:30, when it starts getting dark, at my house. Only Brianna and Aleiah will come, due to the fact that Angie will be in Cancun. Unfortunately, we cannot finish the editing before we have all clips needed. To be more specific, we need to put some of the credits on top of clips that we currently don’t have. That said, we are hoping to fix that very soon. Brianna and I have talked ab

Peer Review

My group and I have shown our project to some people. Not necessarily friends, but not random people either. Simply some friendly acquaintances. I didn’t want to pick people who may biased, in order to have judgements. However, my friends and I are all a bit insecure of our faces and acting, so we do not feel very comfortable showing our video to anyone. Kaitlyn, of of the persons reviewing our project, has noticed some details. First, she really liked the jump cuts that I had made, but she wished that I had more, to make the atmosphere a bit more creepy. Additionally, she thought I should add some additional sound effects. For instance, the knife scratching on the picture frame, to make the viewers more uncomfortable. One last tip she gave me is to lower the brightness of some clips. In some, the brightness is already low, but some other are way brighter, which creates some unbalance within the clips and the transitions.   Another acquaintance reviewing my project was Sofia. She said
